The total calcium in your blood is measured by an ICA blood test. Calcium comes in a variety of forms in your blood. Ionized calcium, calcium bound to other minerals known as anions, and calcium bound to proteins such as albumin are examples of these. The most active form of calcium is ionized calcium, often known as free calcium.
