About
A class of antibodies (immune proteins) called immunoglobulin E (IgE) causes allergic responses. It is present in the blood in extremely tiny levels. An allergen-specific IgE blood test analyzes the quantity of IgE present in the bloodstream in order to diagnose an allergy.
