A kidney, ureter, and bladder (KUB) X-ray may be conducted to evaluate the abdominal area for reasons of abdominal discomfort or to evaluate the organs and structures of the urinary and/or gastrointestinal (GI) systems. A KUB X-ray may be performed as the first diagnostic technique to evaluate the urinary system.
